Friends of AGI

Aerolito’s AI mentorship

Welcome
to Friends of AGI:
the AI mentorship
by Aerolito.

Every week, a one-hour online session with Guilherme Resende, Aerolito’s Head of AI. Always on Mondays, live, from 1 to 2 pm (Brasília time), and recorded for anyone who wants to watch later (sessions stay available for three months). Over the year, that’s 36 sessions.

On top of that, there are six two-hour online sessions with guest speakers. The first is the official opening, with Tiago Mattos, Aerolito’s founding partner. For those just starting out, there are also four introductory sessions, scheduled in parallel. And every participant gets three 45-minute one-to-one sessions with Guilherme, for personalized mentoring on their own projects.

Between sessions, the conversation keeps going in an exclusive group, with AI news and debates. And over the year, Aerolito will build three dataviz maps of AI signals for the group. In December, an in-person meetup in Porto Alegre to celebrate our partnership.

The project has a beginning, but it doesn’t need an end: as long as there’s engagement, Friends of AGI goes on. The minimum commitment is twelve months, with a maximum of 100 participants. When someone leaves, the first person on the waitlist takes their spot.

Friends of AGI
is more than a course:
it’s a literacy
that moves
with the times.

It’s humanly impossible to keep up with everything new in artificial intelligence. If Astra and Fable hold the spotlight today, tomorrow it all changes. Proposing a static program for such a dynamic system is, quite literally, proof that someone hasn’t understood what’s happening.

That’s why Friends of AGI starts from a few premises that make sense today. But it’s fully open to change as the market, and the technologies that define it, change too.

The program has five levels of depth.

1. Weekly sessions, led by Guilherme Resende, Aerolito’s Head of AI.
2. Guest Speakers: special dates, with longer sessions that bring perspectives complementary to Aerolito’s.
3. Futures maps: just as Aerolito presents its work to clients, it will present futures signals and territories to program participants.
4. The exclusive group: daily news and interaction with Guilherme Resende.
5. Personalized mentoring: over one year, three 45-minute windows to talk about your AI projects with Guilherme Resende.

A small sample:
technical literacy,
conceptual, professional
and references.

Not just another
AI community:
it’s the community
of Aerolito’s
futurists.

Anyone can talk about AI. If what you want is the latest news, you don’t need Aerolito: just visit directories like There’s An AI For That and pick the one that works best for your context. Now, understanding the implications of AI for work, for the economy, for your kids’ education: that’s a different kind of depth, and a different ability to assess futures. Because this isn’t about understanding AI. It’s about using futurist literacy to think about futures through AI. Those are completely different things.

Aerolito is the company that pioneered Futures Thinking in Brazil. It popularized a number of things the market now takes for granted. Like the very term futurist, or the discipline of saying ‘futures’, in the plural. Among many others.

So: that’s the difference between joining just another AI community and joining our AI community.

Why
Friends of AGI
instead of
Friends of AI.

AI is a term that’s already part of everyone’s routine. It’s no longer the future: it’s the present.

Because Aerolito works on long horizons, we decided to look a few steps ahead. Yes, we’ll talk about today’s AI. But we’ll also talk about the AI that’s coming.

So this mentorship doesn’t just want you to adapt to the changes AI brings. It wants you to learn to read the signals, get ahead of them and, that way, sail more calmly through the seas of the coming years. As we like to say: ‘the adaptable are attentive latecomers. Attentive, yes, but always late’.

Hence the choice of AGI, short for Artificial General Intelligence. The term is used in different ways. But, in general, it refers to the point when an AI reaches the capabilities of an adult human. Friends of AGI is also a tribute to our best-known program, Friends of Tomorrow.

This phenomenon is already underway, it’s inevitable, and we have to prepare. Being Friends of AI isn’t enough. We have to be Friends of AGI. Understanding its opportunities, its risks and its implications for society.

Why
Aerolito has
the authority
to
run a mentorship
on AI.

Sure, plenty of people know more about AI than Aerolito does. But, just as surely, many of the people who know more about AI than Aerolito don’t have our futurist vision. So: many people still talk about what is, not about what could be.

That’s the core dynamic of Friends of AGI: using our ability to read futures to describe what we’re seeing, and what few people in Brazil are talking about.

Still, Aerolito feels it has the authority to take on this space. Below are a few moments from our history that show this isn’t a topic that entered our lives recently.

Timeline

2012

Tiago Mattos, a partner at the company, attends Singularity’s GSP and connects with some of the biggest names in AI worldwide, like Ray Kurzweil, Neil Jacobstein and [Krhyin xxxxx].

2012

Aerolito makes its first prediction on the subject. Based on Narrative Science (an AI that wrote news stories on sports, real estate and the economy) and on the logarithmic chart of how fast so-called computational creativity was accelerating, Aerolito predicted: ‘Within ten years, anyone with a smartphone will have a computational creativity able to generate text, images and video’. Ten years later, ChatGPT was born.

2015

Aerolito runs its first project 100% focused on AI, using IBM Watson technology. The project, called Fanalyzer, was a quiz that tested whether you could identify your idols’ personalities by dissecting their tweets.

2016

Tiago Mattos becomes the first Brazilian on Singularity University’s faculty and starts learning AI straight from the source.

2016–2018

Aerolito launches several products and projects built with AI. Pox (in-class interaction software), Jab (an AI that places ads in YouTube videos), OLI (a post-distance-learning platform with AI-personalized learning), Arena Interativa (a timeline of futures content curated by a proprietary algorithm).

2018

Aerolito is invited to share its vision at the UN in Geneva, on the futures of work and education and the influence of AI on both.

2020–2023

During and after lockdown, Aerolito gains national and international reach with the program ‘O Que Vem Depois da Pandemia?’ (What Comes After the Pandemic?), explaining how AI would shape the direction of work in the years ahead.

2024

In May 2024, Aerolito takes part in The Future of AI, a Singularity program with some of the world’s leading AI scientists, like Ray Kurzweil and Hod Lipson, and renews its entire content library.

2026

The Aerolito team becomes so AI-literate that every professional in the company turns into a builder. Whatever their field, people use AI not as an assistant, but as a creative force.

2026

Aerolito launches Brazil’s largest ecosystem of AIs for futures: Plataforma A01, Futures Simulator, Studio, Instant Storyteller. Plus the House of Futures seal, to encourage more companies to become Futurestech, with humans and AI at the core.

2026

Aerolito makes the most accurate forecast of the runoff in Brazil’s presidential election, using its synthetic humans (AIs that simulate the Brazilian population). The forecast was made ten days before the election, recorded on the blockchain, and nailed the final result with an error of just 0.09% (better than every national polling institute).

A program
built
in real time,
while
AI happens.

The program will adapt to changes and launches in the AI market. So it’s impossible to predict what we’ll cover. Below is a first draft of the six opening sessions.

  • The Third Link: the most important change in a professional’s life for 2027.
  • How to make your company AI-driven.
  • Replication > adoption: why features are no longer a competitive edge for platforms.
  • How Pine’s Experience Economy intersects with the Age of AI.
  • Why a repertoire of futures matters more than experience in the Age of AI.
  • How to build an AI-driven strategic plan.

An exclusive group
with news
every day,
curated by
our Head of AI.

All participants join an exclusive group. Monday to Friday, Aerolito’s Head of AI, Guilherme Resende, posts news and insights on the topic.

Mondays are about the future of work: the latest in AI that could ripple into how we work. Tuesdays, how-to-build: practical tips for building your own platforms and solutions with AI. Wednesdays, Brasil com S: Brazilian cases that fly under most people’s radar and are getting attention in AI. Thursdays, tips for generating images, sound and video with artificial intelligence. Fridays, reflections on futures beyond the probable.

Of course, participants can join in and bring their own comments too. Guilherme will be in the group, part of everything.

Three futures
maps
to expand
your AI repertoire.

Três Ondas (Three Waves) is Aerolito’s proprietary method. It has already shaped the strategic planning of giants like Ambev, Lojas Renner, 99, Cyrela, Caixa, Tecban, Irani and Itaú, among many others.

Over one year, you’ll get access to three versions of the map, with AI signals to explore and interact with. Aerolito’s dataviz map will be a reference you can use day to day, with vertical and transversal innovations.

To level
the field:
four introductory
sessions
that put everyone
on the same page.

In a group of up to 100 participants, levels of knowledge on the subject are likely to vary widely. That’s exactly why Aerolito created four introductory sessions during the first month.

In these conversations, we’ll cover the most basic questions about AI. From fundamental terminology, through an introduction to prompt engineering, all the way to some concepts that (despite being introductory) most people don’t know.

If you feel the invitation is for you, you’ll be very welcome. We’re sure that, after these four sessions, nothing that comes up in the group’s other spaces (online sessions, community, guest speakers) will intimidate you.

How do I know if the program is right for me?

You can take our quiz, which gives you feedback and shows whether the program makes sense for you.

Take the test

I’m new to AI and I’m afraid I won’t keep up with the other participants from the very first class.

Aerolito has prepared a parallel program called AI 101. Anyone who sees themselves as a beginner gets this literacy, outside the mentorship, to cover the basics. That way, in the main group, we can skip the most introductory conversations.

I’m not new to AI, but I know I have a lot to learn. Still, I’m afraid that participants who are newer to it will pull the level down, on topics I already master.

With that in mind, Aerolito has prepared a parallel program called AI 101. Beginners get this literacy outside the mentorship, so basic questions don’t take up time in the main group.

Will you cover technical things, like prompt engineering? Or more conceptual ones, like AI’s impact on work?

Both. Remember that we have several different spaces.
